Lyrics
Stars shinin' bright above you
Night breezes seem to whisper, "I love you"
Birds singin' in the sycamore tree
Dream a little dream of me
Say, "Nighty-night" and kiss me
Just hold me tight and tell me you'll miss me
While I'm alone and blue as can be
Dream a little dream of me
According to Wikipedia, Music producer Thom Donovan has described Dream a Little Dream of Me as both a lullaby and a love song, noting its “comforting, childlike quality.” The lyrics by Gus Kahn portray two lovers parting reluctantly, with one asking the other to remember them through dreams while asleep.
Dreams and our imagination offer a library of feelings, solutions, perspectives, and experiences that we can draw on to recognize more about ourselves and our relationships. We can get along better with others, and in the world, simply by looking within at this treasure trove that our own mind generates for us on a nightly basis, or that we sink into in our daydreaming. You’ll be surprised how much you can learn from people you meet (and know) when you close your eyes.
Lyrics
Stars fadin' but I linger on, dear (ooh)
Still cravin' your kiss (ooh)
I'm longin' to linger 'til dawn, dear (ooh)
Just saying this (oh-oh)

Stars Shining Bright Above You
Elliot sang “Dream a Little Dream of Me” for six years, beginning with The Mamas & The Papas hit version in 1968. Cass Elliot is the one whistling at the end of the song.
She performed her final concert at the London Palladium on July 27, 1974, and sang it for the final time.
Two days later, she died in her sleep at 32 years old.
This song is both romantic and nostalgic, many artists have covered it including a melancholy version on ukulele by Zooey Deschanel. Zooey’s voice is clean and beautiful, the simplicity of this song is what is so impactful.
Every morning I start my day with my “hour of power”, quiet time dedicated to getting my heart, mind and spirit on the right track. This process is something my mentor taught me 16 years ago, using my time for deep meditation and sincere prayer. This helps me channel and share energy in the most important areas of my life; romance, friendships, health, creativity, finances, and spiritual growth. In 2022 I learned that our Theta brainwaves create a powerful flow state and can be activated using a sound wave. I’ve been using Genius Wave effectively since then. I have affiliate links that will educate you about the process.

Perspective is a choice.
A positive attitude is not a switch you can turn off and on. You have to practice it on a daily basis. If you are a praying, or meditation person, there are two important things to focus on everyday. In the morning you pray for strength to face the battles ahead of you. At night, with gratitude in your heart, you pray to be healed so that you are prepared for the next day’s battle.
Lyrics
Sweet dreams 'til sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you
But in your dreams, whatever they be
Dream a little dream of me (la-la-la, la-la-la)
Without memories, we wouldn’t experience longing or grief. Sensory memory may bring to mind a loved one’s scent, the comfort of their touch, or the sound of their voice. Autobiographical memory offers knowledge of the self in the past and helps us imagine that self in the future (A. Baddeley, 1988; Bluck, 2003). These memories may remind us of joyfully shared moments—a special restaurant or a funny time together. As we think about what once was and cannot be restored now, a sense of loss may create the heaviness of distress, a sigh of longing.
We tend to believe that recalling a pleasant personal experience will lift a bad mood, and that remembering a distressing personal episode will make it worse. However, a contrast effect can also happen (Wilson & Ross, 2003). In cases of loss, recalling a positive emotional memory often leads to the quick emergence of a negative emotion. Consequently, we automatically reframe the situation based on our current circumstances. As a result, when we face loss, we experience nostalgia and bittersweet feelings, which researchers call “ambivalent affect” (Vaccaro et al., 2020).
Look at life with new, spiritual eyes.
