Lyrics

I can't count the times
I almost said what's on my mind
But I didn't
And just the other day
I wrote down all the things I'd say
But I couldn't
I just couldn't

This song is pure sweetness.

Feeling gratitude for a relationship is so important.

Expressing gratitude for the relationship is pure gold.

Expressions of gratitude draws a couple closer by spending more time together. Why gratitude? It’s an emotion that reminds us of what we like about our partners in the first place.

Lyrics

Baby, I know that you've been wonderin'
Mmm, so here goes nothin'

In case you didn't know
Baby, I'm crazy 'bout you
And I would be lyin' if I said
That I could live this life without you
Even though
I don't tell you all the time
You had my heart a long, long time ago
In case you didn't know

Okay, there is a very special reason I’m doing this song this week.

This song is special for Paul and I. On our very first date, we slow-danced to this song in his kitchen. We laughed together over the lyrics “in case you didn’t know” because the singer was shy about expressing his interest and commitment. We weren’t shy.

Paul and I had known one another as kids. We knew nothing about our life stories after our high school years. 35 years went by before we matched on a dating app and started talking. There was just something pulling us together. We are very different types of people, with very different life paths, however our connection was undeniable.

On our first date we put everything on the table, we talked through all the hard topics. Surprisingly, everything lined up nicely. We knew we had what it takes to create an amazing relationship together.

Once we shared our first kiss, and that first slow dance in the kitchen, we both knew we were all-in. I even told Paul, “If you’re going to break my heart, break my heart. We’re both too intelligent to stay together if it isn’t right for both of us.” He agreed. We dated, we planned a future together, and we got married. Green lights every step of the way.

We will celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary this week in beautiful Akumal, Mexico.

We’ll share a slow dance to this song, which was also played at our wedding. It makes us laugh because at no time, in our time together, have we not conveyed our complete interest in one another. Of course we know that “we’re crazy about one another”, “know we are better off together” and “have one another’s hearts”.

Lyrics

The way you look tonight
That second glass of wine
That did it
Mm
There was somethin' 'bout that kiss
Girl, it did me in
Got me thinkin'
I'm thinkin'

You got all of me

I belong to you

Yeah, you’re my everything

I love this bridge! “You’ve got all of me, I belong to you, you’re my everything” is exactly what it means to be all-in. Why is it so hard to let our guard down and express this?

Being "all-in" in a relationship can be difficult because of various factors including fear of intimacy, past relationships experiences, lack of trust, insecurity, unresolved personal issues, difficulty with vulnerability, communication challenges, and a fear of losing oneself within the relationship; essentially, it can be hard to fully commit due to anxieties about potential hurt or loss, often stemming from past experiences
