Fun fact, find the answer at the bottom of this email.
Emilio Estefan, Jon’s producer, manager and mentor, told Jon that this single would likely only peak at number 20, he deliberately gave Secada false hope to prevent him from becoming too confident. Where did this song actually peak on the Billboard Hot 100 chart?

Lyrics
Oh-oh-oh (When you come home I breathe a little faster)
Every time we're together, oh-oh
It'd never be the same (It'd never be the same)
If you're not here
How can you stay away (How can you stay)
Away so long? (Away so long?)
Why can't we stay together? Oh-oh
Just give me a reason. Give me a reason!
According to Wikipedia; Stephen Holden of The New York Times lauded Secada’s ability to transform a lovelone ballad into an impactful song by infusing it with a driving beat, and said Secada’s intense vocal performance lends the song authenticity and credibility.
Emotional Resilience: While the lyrics reflect sadness, the energetic, dance-pop beat contrasts with the sad lyrics, making it a poignant anthem for the broken-hearted.
Lyrics
Don't wanna hold on to never, no
I'm not that strong!
I'm not that strong!
'Cause I, I don't want to say it
I don't want to find another way
To make it through the day without you
I, I, I can't resist
Trying to find exactly what I miss
It's just another day without you
It's just another day, oh-oh
This song was shared among my widowed friends, these are the thoughts I shared:
Oh wow...this song really triggered all the big feels. "I'm not that strong, I don't want to say it, I don't want to find another way to make it through the day without you..." I love this song but I haven't listened to it since I've been widowed. I am remarried. It was almost 7 years after being widowed. 7 years of barely "making it through the day without him". These days I do have real love, mutual respect, compatibility and common goals, and I still miss my late husband with an ache that cannot be replaced. Strange combination of emotions...a flood of deep, meaningful, powerful, beautiful emotions. What happens in the next life? God only knows, but I know God is LOVE and there will be LOVE. Eternity is a long time, "together" probably doesn't look the same as it does on Earth. I have to believe in a beautiful afterlife, for all three of us. If I didn't believe that, I would not have remarried. Thank you so much for sharing. That song is still in my head, and my heart has the full heaviness of loving my late husband in the best way possible. Nice way to start my day, yes, even with the pain of it.
I just listened to the song again. As a widow, this song isn’t about clinging to a relationship hoping my sweetheart will change or come around. No, this song is about that driving, powerful ache that is belted out in the chorus. I will forever search the idiosyncrasies that I miss in being near him.
Music has the power to tap into our deepest emotions in an eloquent way.
Every morning I start my day with my “hour of power”, quiet time dedicated to getting my heart, mind and spirit on the right track. This process is something my mentor taught me 16 years ago, using my time for deep meditation and sincere prayer. This helps me channel and share energy in the most important areas of my life; romance, friendships, health, creativity, finances, and spiritual growth. In 2022 I learned that our Theta brainwaves create a powerful flow state and can be activated using a sound wave. I’ve been using Genius Wave effectively since then. I have affiliate links that will educate you about the process.

Perspective is a choice.
A positive attitude is not a switch you can turn off and on. You have to practice it on a daily basis. If you are a praying, or meditation person, there are two important things to focus on everyday. In the morning you pray for strength to face the battles ahead of you. At night, with gratitude in your heart, you pray to be healed so that you are prepared for the next day’s battle.

This is an incredible, unforgettable song. Classic 90s. This song is full of passion, desire, longing, urgency etc. The way he sings it sends shivers down my spine.. I can hear pain in his voice, its intense. He's desperate for her.. his love is desperate and on fire.
I also love how vulnerable he is in this song. He just totally wears his heart on his sleeve. No pride, just pure passion and need. Love the tune, the words and the way he sings it. (you can tell i reeeeally love this song lol) Theres something extremely sad about the sound of this song, its heart breaking.
